MTD Lawn Mowers
MTD began its business in 1932, but it wasn't until 1958 that the first MTD lawn mowers were introduced. Those were commercial models, but in the last 35 the company has produced an array of residential models as well under a variety of different brands. Cub Cadet, Yard Man, White Outdoor, Troy Built and McCulloch are all brands produced by MTD.
When you are buying an MTD mower you are getting a quality machine to cut your grass at a reasonable price. Generally they will include solid Honda or Briggs and Stratton engines, and large back tires to make working on hilly areas or uneven terrain much easier. And if you should have a problem with your machine, parts are easily available from large chain stores like Wal-Mart or Lowes.
If there are problems, they usually occur on the lower priced models where the back end frame and transaxle are not as durable as those on costlier machines. But rarely will you have an engine problem.
